Curiosities & Oddities
Curiosities, oddities (and stranger things) have always existed in the natural world. Starting in 1599, Rudolf II, the Holy Roman Emperor, decided to start collecting weird things and putting them in a "Cabinet of Curiosities". There were bizarre biological specimens, exotic plants, skeletons, books of strange knowledge, and more. Others followed in his foot steps through the late 1800s. This curated collection of images gives a view into those times.
