BEHIND THE SCENES:
This is a colorful illustration of three fish (Longnose Butterfly, Mesoprion Chrysurus, Saddle Butterfly), that live in the Indian Sea. The fish originally appeared as three separate plates in the book "Histoire Naturelle des Poissons" by Baron Georges Cuvier, which was published in Paris in 1828. Cuvier, was a French naturalist and zoologist, sometimes referred to as the "father of paleontology".
