This colorful illustration of a Giant Squid (Cephalopode) is from the book "The Cephalopods Vol. 2". It was first published in Germany in 1910 by Carl Chun, a marine biologist. Chun is known for discovering and naming the vampire squid (Vampyroteuthis infernalis, which means "vampire squid from hell"). This plate shows the stamp of the "Marian Biological Laboratory" in Washington.
