DESCRIPTION:
This colorful illustration of an African Elephant first appeared in 1894 in "The Royal Natural History", a six volume compendium of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and invertebrate animals. The editor, Richard Lydekker, was an English naturalist, geologist and writer of numerous books on natural history.
